LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts announced on Wednesday that the state is moving from the “yellow” phase to the “blue” phase of its coronavirus response plan.
With the change, the requirement about seating people in groups of eight or less returns to only guidance for restaurants, bars, wedding/funeral receptions and other venues.
The requirement for people at bars and restaurants to be seated unless ordering food, using the restroom, or playing games also returns to guidance.
Maximum capacity for indoor gatherings increases from 50% to 75%.
Elective surgeries can also resume without restriction.
Nebraska’s pandemic response plan links directed health measure restrictions to the percentage of hospital beds in Nebraska filled by coronavirus patients. The percentage is now below 15%, which is the threshold for Nebraska moving to the “blue” phase.
The switch to the "blue" phase goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. Thursday.
